SEASCAPE TOWER

DESCRIPTION

The Seascape tower is an impressive 187m high with 52 floors, and 5 levels of basement. The unique design utilised an external structural mega frame to enable each apartment to have clear unobstructed views. This in combination with their desire to maximise the utilisation of the 5 levels of basement made for a very challenging foundation design.

CLIENT

China Construction

VALUE

$ 9 million

SECTOR

Commercial

TECHNIQUE

D-wall, Bearing piles, Anchors

Through our early contractor involvement, we were able to advise and direct the client to a foundation solution that met all of these challenging demands. The solution involved the installation of a perimeter Diaphragm wall and a number of large bearing piles, some of which included plunge columns to facilitate the tower cranes. The retaining wall utilised a mix of internal props and temporary anchors to facilitate the bottom up construction method nominated by the client.
